Undeniably, smartphones have invaded our lives and no doubt that our local telcos are giving us 1000s of free SMSes (with a price hike of course), most of us prefer to use online messaging apps like Whatsapp, LINE, Kakao, Wechat, Viber etc. as we can share videos and photos over these platforms for free, as compared to MMS (Multimedia messaging service), which charges a fee whenever we send to someone.

I think Whatsapp is still the most popular messaging software in Singapore, despite having to pay a nominal fee of US$0.99 on iOS, and US$0.99 per year on android (with first year free). Next in time is probably LINE.

The Line Messaging App

With its adorable bear and rabbit characters – Brown, Moon, Cony & James, and tons of free stickers for its users, it has a huge following overseas with pop-up stores selling their soft toys, handphone accessories, stationery etc. What’s more, the app is absolutely free for all users. Be it simple messaging or voice calls, all you need is an internet connection and you can connect with your family and friends from any corner of the world, even if you do not wish to activate your Singapore SIM card for data roaming. (I know…the local telcos are bleeding money from these, but that’s what technology is all about isn’t it?)

Promotion ends 31/1/15 and there is a “per participant” limit of one coupon for the promotion. 2. Free Krispy Kreme Doughnuts

There was a lot of hype when Krispy Kreme opened in Tangs basement in Oct 2013. Long snaking queues were present at all times of the time despite the high prices compared to other doughnut factories. No denying that the original glazed is simply the best, but at $2.90 a piece, it is very expensive and I always get my fill when I travel to Bangkok since it half the price there!

However, there’s no need to travel anywhere now. Simply use your LINE app and reply “ChristmasMe” into the chatroom and you can redeem one for free! Do note that redemption is from 24/12/14-9/1/15 so get the redemption coupon now and redeem when the door opens on 24/12/14!
